Cedar Hill to Perform at KASU-FM Bluegrass Monday Concert January 24
JONESBORO — The band Cedar Hill will perform traditional bluegrass and gospel music at the next KASU-FM Bluegrass Monday concert. The show will be Monday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m. at the Collins Theatre, 120 West Emerson Street, in downtown Paragould.
Mandolinist and vocalist Frank Ray founded the band Cedar Hill in 1967, and still leads the group today. The group is known for Ray’s outstanding original songs which reflect the music and culture of the Ozark Hills.
Ray has been inducted into the National Traditional Country Music Association, and is a member of the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America’s Hall of Greats.
With members from Arkansas and Missouri, Cedar Hill has performed across America and presented acclaimed concerts in Europe. The band has also performed on the Grand Ole Opry.
Cedar Hill currently records for Mountain Fever Records, and the group will have their new CD available for purchase at the concert.
In addition to Ray, the band includes fiddler Pete Brown, bassist Patti LaFleur, guitarist Dalton Harper, and multi-instrumentalist D.J. Shumate who plays banjo, resophonic guitar and fiddle. All members of the band sing.

The admission fee is $10 per person, payable by cash at the door the night of the concert. Everyone aged 18 and under will be admitted free. Advance tickets can be purchased at kasu.org/tickets. All seating is general admission. Doors open to the theatre at 6 p.m., and seating is first-come, first-served.
Bluegrass Monday concerts are held on the fourth Monday night of each month.
