College of Liberal Arts and Communication Recognizes Outstanding Grads
JONESBORO -- The most outstanding graduating students from the College of Liberal Arts and Communication at Arkansas State University were honored as recipients of achievement awards for 2016-17 during the annual Convocation of Scholars reception, according to Dr. Carl Cates, dean.
The Chancellor’s Scholar award was presented to John Williams of Paragould, a double major who is graduating with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both communication studies and philosophy. The Chancellor’s Scholar is the graduating student with the highest cumulative grade point average in the college.
Kaylee Lewis of Poplar Bluff, Mo., a sociology major, received the 4.0 Scholar Award. In the event of a tie, the Chancellor's Scholar is the student who has completed the most credit hours.
