College of Sciences and Mathematics Announces Top Graduates
JONESBORO -- The College of Sciences and Mathematics at Arkansas State University recognized 23 outstanding graduating students for 2015-16 Thursday evening during its annual Convocation of Scholars awards ceremony, according to Dr. John Pratte, dean of the college.
The Chancellor’s Scholar award was presented to Sara Eyler of Poplar Bluff, Mo. The Chancellor’s Scholar is the graduating student with the highest overall grade point average in the respective academic college. Hannah Robey of Longview, Texas, received the 4.0 Scholar Award.
The departmental awards are presented during Convocation of Scholars to the graduate in each degree program who has most excelled in scholarship, leadership and service to the department.

Biological Sciences
Christopher Elms of Batesville, BS, biological sciences (pre-professional studies); Morgan Tripod of Paragould, BS, biological sciences (zoology); Kassandra Riley of Cheney, Kan., BS, biological sciences (botany); Dave Miller of Hardy, BS, biological sciences (environmental science); Christina Carl of Jonesboro, BS, biological sciences; Peter Hasik of Aransas Pass, Texas, BS, wildlife ecology and management; and Jamie Price of Cave City, BSE, biological sciences.
Chemistry and Physics
Sara Eyler of Poplar Bluff, Mo., BA, chemistry; Cody Anderson of Allerton, Iowa, BS, chemistry; and Hayden Cornwell of Lake City, BS, physics.
Computer Science
Laura Powell of Arkadelphia and Brandon Sims of Paragould, BS, computer science.
Mathematics
Kearius Jackson of Marion, BSE, mathematics; Macoe Davis of Paragould and Hannah Robey of Longview, Texas, BS, mathematics.
Graduate Programs
Graduate student awards were presented to seven candidates for the master’s degree and one candidate for a doctoral degree.
