Concert Band and Symphonic Winds to Give Concert, Feb. 26
JONESBORO – The Concert Band and Symphonic Winds will perform in concert Thursday, Feb. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in Fowler Center's Riceland Hall at Arkansas State University.
The Concert Band will be conducted by graduate assistant Tyler Casey and the Symphonic Winds will be conducted by Dr. Sarah Labovitz, director of athletic bands.
The Concert Bands portion of the concert will include performances of “Declaration Overture” by Claude T. Smith, “Polly Oliver” by Thomas R. Root, “A Little Tango Music” by Adam Gorb, and Bonds of Unity” by Karl L. King and arranged by James Swearingen.
The Symphonic Winds’ portion of the concert will include performances of “Canzon septimi toni, No. 2” by Giovanni Gabrieli, “Alleluia! Laudemus Te” by Alfred Reed, “Children’s March” by Percy Grainger, “Pageant” by Vincent Persichetti, and “Albanian Dance” by Shelley Hanson.
