JONESBORO, Ark. — The Arkansas State University’s Delta Center for Economic Development will host a training course entitled “Practical Supervision.” The course is designed for team leaders, supervisors, newly-appointed and prospective managers and those who wish to gain the knowledge, understanding and necessary skills to manage effectively.
The training course runs Thursdays, June 20 through August 15, from 1-4 p.m. Jim Hillyer will be the trainer. Cost is $699 for those registering prior to June 1 and $749 for registration after June 1. This eight-week course is designed to help overcome many of the problems encountered as a supervisor, whether a team leader, a project manager or a unit coordinator.
The course curriculum includes “Developing Leadership Skills /Understanding the Fundamentals of Supervision,” “Creating a Positive, Healthy Workplace Climate,” “Developing Effective Workplace Relationships,” “Coaching Employees for Improved Performance,” “Resolving Employee Disputes/ Resolving Conflicts,” “Leading/Managing Change,” “Managing Time and Priorities” and “Understanding Generational Differences in the Workplace/Improving Business Etiquette.”
The training will be held at the Delta Center for Economic Development (DCED), 5501 Krueger Drive, Jonesboro.
