Department of Music to present Fall Faculty Recital
JONESBORO – The second concert in the 2014-15 Faculty Recital Series, presented by the Department of Music at Arkansas State University, will be Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Riceland Hall of Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Dr. Admission is free.
Faculty members who will perform on the program are Dr. Lauren Schack Clark, Dr. Sarah Jones-Hayes, Dr. Don Bowyer, Dr. Ken Carroll, Craig Collison, Dr. Robin Dauer, Dr. Bruce Faske, Dr. Ed Owen, Dr. Christopher Wilson and Meagan Conley. Guest performers will be Terrell Montgomery and Tyler Worsham.
The concert will include performances of “Sonata for Violin and Piano, K. 454” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and performed by Sarah Jones-Hayes and Lauren Schack Clark; “Three More Furies” by James Grant and performed by Ed Owen; and “Dos Gatos Diablos” and Just Lookin’” by Don Bowyer and performed by Don Bowyer, Ken Carroll, Craig Collison, Tyler Worsham and Terrell Montgomery.
Other selections are “Nimrod” by Edward Elgar, “Fancies, Toyes and Dreames” by Giles Farnaby, and selections from the “West Side Story Suite” by Leonard Bernstein, performed by Meagan Conley, Robin Dauer, Bruce Faske, Ed Owen, and Christopher Wilson.
The audience is encouraged to visit the Bradbury Gallery during intermission. Featured in the current exhibition are recent works by Nikki Arnell and Joe Ford, two members of the A-State Department of Art.
