Dinner with KASU Event Highlights Annual Fall Fund Drive Launch
JONESBORO – KASU 91.9 FM, the public media service of Arkansas State University, will host “Dinner with KASU” and also kick-off its fall fun(d) drive this month. KASU recently celebrated its 67th anniversary, signing on the air May 17, 1957. KASU is the oldest NPR member station in Arkansas.
Listeners can join the KASU team 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Native Brew Works, 515 South Gee St. in Jonesboro, for fun and prizes. Native Brew Works will donate a portion of the food proceeds to KASU. Attendees can take a turn on the “Spinning Wheel” for KASU-branded prizes.
The party continues Monday, Sept. 30, with KASU’s fall fun(d) drive, and continues through Oct. 11, during the hours of 6 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Listeners may call (870) 972-2200, or donations can be made online anytime at KASU.org/give or by downloading the KASU mobile app.
KASU listeners become members by making financial contributions to the non-commercial educational station.
“We are excited about engaging with the local community during our Dinner with KASU events. The KASU listeners continually show their support for the station, in various ways, keeping us strong and helping us reach our goals,” said Mark Smith, KASU station manager
“KASU listeners, and underwriters, consistently support the station they love; and we appreciate their support and contributions. We are confident that our listeners will help us continue to bring the local community the music, news, arts and views they enjoy,” Smith continued. “Our fall fun(d) drive is an important component to the overall fiscal success of the station, and we appreciate the support in keeping KASU strong in 2024 and beyond.”
KASU has been an NPR member station since 1971. In addition to locally produced news and music programs, KASU pays to receive programming from NPR, American Public Media, and other sources.
