Faculty Members Approved for Promotions and Tenure for 2021-22
JONESBORO — Eleven faculty members at Arkansas State University have been promoted in academic rank and six have attained tenure, announced Dr. Alan Utter, provost and vice chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research.
“I would like to extend my sincerest congratulations to our faculty who have earned tenure and/or promotion,” Utter said. "We are very fortunate to have each and every one of these faculty members on our campus teaching our students and engaging in new knowledge creation/research in each of their respective disciplines."
The ASU Board of Trustees approved recommendations from the Promotion, Retention and Tenure Committee and university administration. The actions are effective July 1 with the beginning of the 2021-22 academic year.
Faculty who were promoted to professor, along with their academic disciplines, are Dr. Jeongho Ahn, mathematics; Dr. Hashim Ali, chemistry; Dr. Elizabeth (Libby) Nix, nursing; and Dr. Guolei Zhou, biological sciences.
Seven faculty members were promoted to associate professor. Those promoted are Dr. Jessica Curtis, psychology; Dr. Katerina Hill, marketing; Dr. Donghoon Kim, computer science; Jeff McLaughlin, theatre; Dr. Veronika Pribyslavska, exercise science; Dr. Eric Scudamore, exercise science; and Dr. Marcus Tribbett, English.
Six faculty members were approved for tenure. They are Dr. Scott Bruce, athletic training; Dr. Jessica Curtis, psychology; Dr. Katerina Hill, marketing; Dr. Donghoon Kim, computer science; Jeff McLaughlin, theatre; and Dr. Marcus Tribbett, English.
