Fall Commencement Ceremony is Saturday, Dec. 13
JONESBORO – Arkansas State University will conduct its 2014 Fall Commencement Ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Convocation Center, 217 Olympic Dr.
Chancellor Tim Hudson will present diplomas to approximately 1,100 graduating students during the ceremony.
The student speaker is Chandler McGuire of Marked Tree, who is receiving the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies degree. Her future plans include graduate school.
Dr. Kenneth L. “Rocky” Clinton, Jr., former associate vice president for global programs at Texas A&M University-Commerce, is the featured speaker. A-State announced Clinton's selection in a Nov. 11 news release.
The commencement ceremony includes graduates from the Colleges of Agriculture and Technology, Business, Education, Engineering, Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Media and Communication, Nursing and Health Professions, Sciences and Mathematics, and University College.
Following the ceremony, a reception for graduates and their families will be held on the north mezzanine. Punch and cookies will be served.

In conjunction with commencement, the Department of Military Science will conduct a commissioning ceremony for graduating cadets Friday, Dec. 12, at 3 p.m. in the Convocation Center auditorium. The commissioning is open to the public.
