Family Weekend Activities will be Highlighted by Family of the Year Announcement
JONESBORO — Arkansas State University's Family Weekend activities are scheduled for this week, highlighted by a family picnic for students and their families at the Chancellor's Residence, 1503 East Nettleton, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday.
In addition to lunch, several family fun activities and petting zoo are planned, and A-State’s 2021 Family of the Year also will be announced. Giveaways include free tickets for the Red Wolves football game with Memphis for the first 200 guests.
The Friday schedule includes family photos and an ice cream social, 6-7:30 p.m., at the west side of the Reng Student Union near the #WeHOWL statue, sponsored by Student Affairs. The university Museum also will be open 10-5, Friday and Saturday.
Saturday include the Judd Hill Regional Farmers’ Market, 8 a.m.-1 p.m., and the Ag Day Furry 5K fun run/walk, starting at 8 a.m. at the A-State Pavilion, west of Centennial Bank Stadium. The Department of Art + Design will host its monthly Second Saturday public art activity, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center, room 107.
Saturday afternoon the A-State Alumni Association is sponsoring a 3:30-5:30 p.m. tailgate party in the Cooper Alumni Center, prior to the 6 p.m. game with Memphis.
