Flippen’s Senior Art Exhibition Underway in Gallery
JONESBORO – The solo show "Space, Paths and Destinations," by Rachel Flippen, is now viewable in the Fine Arts Center Art Gallery at Arkansas State University.
The work by Flippen, a senior from Jacksonville, will continue through Dec. 17. On display will be mixed media works with striking lines and meaningful text.
"Using India ink, watercolor, graphite and silk screen, I have created abstract compositions that relay visual interpretations of thought," Flippen says in her artist's statement. "Many of the works have actual thoughts written on the page. I have my interest in graffiti to thank for this method of leaving an archive of memories for myself and even spilling secrets to others."
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily. Due to COVID-19 concerns, the gallery will be limited to six visitors at a time.
