JONESBORO, Ark. — Arkansas State University’s Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) and the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce will offer a seminar for small business marketing entitled, “Get Listed Locally: Claiming Your Business for Local Search” at the Batesville Area Chamber Conference Room Wednesday, March 13 from 1-4 p.m.
Herb Lawrence, ASU SBTDC director, will conduct the “Get Listed Locally” workshop. “Even if you are not using social media or have a website, people are searching the Internet for information about you, your business location, your products and services. They are using smart phones, mobile phones, mobile GPS systems to locate you,” said Lawrence, “The question is, have you made it easy for them to find you? If not, your competition has."
In this three-hour hands-on seminar, Lawrence will show attendees simple online tools and websites they can access that will ensure businesses are found locally, create unique marketing messages, and stand out from their competition even if they don’t have a website.
“Get Listed Locally” will also illustrate to attendees how to improve search rankings on Google, Bing and Yahoo. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptop computers if they have one. Seating is limited to 20 attendees per session.
Registration is $35 per person ($25 for Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Mainstreet Batesville members). For more information or to register, contact the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce Administrative Assistant, Mandi Curtwright (870) 793-2378 or e-mail officemanager@mybatesville.org.
