Gov. Hutchinson Appoints A-State Alumna Christy Clark to ASU Board of Trustees
LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Asa Hutchinson today appointed Christy Clark of Little Rock, a 1992 graduate of Arkansas State University, to a five-year term on the ASU Board of Trustees.
A McCrory native, Clark succeeds Ron Rhodes of Cherokee Village, who served two five-year terms on the board, most recently as chair. Her appointment expires in January 2023.
ASU System President Chuck Welch said Clark will bring a broad background in business and community service leadership to the board.
“Christy has deep roots in our state and clearly understands the importance of the ASU System institutions in the Delta and throughout Arkansas,” Welch said. “She and her husband are very successful business owners who understand the importance of a skilled and educated workforce. Christy is also a very active community volunteer who has spent many years serving our state. We’re proud to have another A-State alumna contributing to the growth and success of the ASU System.”
“I’m so honored to serve ASU and appreciate Governor Hutchinson for giving me this opportunity,” Clark said. “It’s been exciting to follow the momentum of the ASU System and its impact on the state. I look forward to working with my fellow trustees and Dr. Welch as we continue to grow and fulfill higher education needs for students.
Clark is controller of Clark Contractors LLC of Little Rock. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting at Arkansas State and is an inactive Certified Public Accountant.
