Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center Adds Reading Club, Retreat to Schedule

PIGGOTT, Ark. — The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center (HPMEC) in Piggott has announced a new event for this summer, a Lost Generation Reading Club and Retreat.

Upon registration, participants will receive three novels about the Lost Generation that can be read throughout the summer. On September 5-7, participants will come together at the museum in Piggott for a weekend of meaningful discussion and fun activities.

Experts in the field will lead discussion about the novels. In addition to these discussions, there will be a film screening and a 1920s dinner party. Participants are invited to come to the dinner party in their best 1920s finery. The dinner party is included for participants, but tickets for the dinner alone are also available for $35.

The Lost Generation books were written in the 1920s and 1930s by authors popular at that time, including Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, John Steinbeck and others.

HPMEC is an Arkansas State University Heritage Site at 1021 W. Cherry Street, Piggott, Arkansas. Tours are on the hour Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
