Horn Studio Students to Present Sunday Afternoon Recital
JONESBORO – The Department of Music at Arkansas State University will present the A-State Horn Studio in recital at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.
The A-State Horn Studio is under the direction of Dr. Juli Buxbaum, assistant professor of horn.
The program features the A-State Horn Choir performing “Still Waters” by Drew Phillips and ‘Mountain Spires” by Gary Kuo, as well as several solo and chamber music pieces by members of the horn studio. Collaborative pianists for this performance are Natalia Vanegas Escobar and Dr. Lauren Schack Clark.
Buxbaum works with applied horn students, conducts horn ensembles, and performs as a member of the Arkansas State Faculty Brass Quintet. She received both a DMA (2018) and MM (2016) in horn performance from Arizona State University, and holds a BM (2014) in music education from Oklahoma State University. Her primary teachers include Lanette Lopez-Compton and John Ericson.
