Isotones to Present Guest Artist Concert and Masterclass
JONESBORO – A guest artist group, Isotones, will present a concert Tuesday, March 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall, 2412 Quapaw Way, at Arkansas State University.
A master class will be offered at 11 a.m. that day, also in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall. Both events are free and open to the public.
The core ensemble, from the Oak Ridge Chamber Music Association in Oak Ridge, Tenn., consists of Scott and Susan Eddlemon, graduates of the prestigious Juilliard School of Music, playing percussion and violin.
They usually add a third musician for each concert; for this presentation, composer and trombonist Dr. Don Bowyer, dean of the College of Fine Arts at A-State, will complete the trio.
Selections on the program include: “Encounters IV, a duel for trombone and percussion” by William Craft, “Improvisations on Three Isotopic Spectra” by Scott Eddlemon, “Partita in E” by J.S. Bach, “Obsession” by Eugene Ysaye, and “Primeval Atom” by Don Bowyer.
