04/02/2018

JONESBORO – In preparation for Denim Day at Arkansas State University, printmaker Shelley Gipson, a member of the Department of Art and Design faculty, will be printing on jeans for Denim Day, April 25, according to Dr. Temma Balducci, professor of art history and department chair.

Jeans will be printed in teal, the color for sexual assault awareness and prevention, with #PackPact down one leg and #MeToo down the other leg.

Those interested in having their jeans printed can leave them with the department administrative assistant, Christi Travis, in Fine Arts Center, Room 103.  They can be picked up by Monday, April 23.

The Department of Art and Design will devote the April "Second Saturday" activities to jeans printing for those who want to bring them by that day, April 14.  Second Saturday activities are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the printmaking studio, Fine Arts Center, Room 108.

The Denim Day campaign in April is a national observance to promote awareness during Sexual Violence Awareness Month, and is being observed at A-State as part of the Pact Pack campaign.
