Kim Bremmer to Share 'The Real Story of Agriculture'
JONESBORO – A prominent voice in the national farm women's movement will address audiences at Arkansas State University on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Kim Bremmer, a nationally recognized motivational speaker focused on telling what she calls "the real story of agriculture," will bring her wit and humor to the Carl R. Reng Student Union Auditorium for a 6:30 p.m. presentation, titled "Celebrating American Agriculture: The Talk Versus The Truth."
Her appearance, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the A-State Delta Center for Economic Development and College of Agriculture, Engineering and Technology.
Earlier in the day, she will address the Next Gen Ag Career Summit for high school students interested in agriculture. The summit is sponsored by the Delta Center for Economic Development and the Economic Development Coalition of Northeast Arkansas.
A wife and mother of two, Bremmer grew up as a farm girl before graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and working as a dairy nutritionist for almost 15 years. She is a vocal champion of agriculture everywhere she goes, sharing with her story with everyday consumers.
“As a dairy consultant, I had the great opportunity to work with farms of all shapes and sizes and can share experiences and perspective on modern agriculture from the people who are actually doing it.”
Bremmer is the Wisconsin State Coordinator for Common Ground, a national movement of farm women who share information about farming and food, and a regular contributor on Rural Route Radio. She also is president of Wisconsin Women for Agriculture, an affiliate of American Agri-Women, the nation’s largest coalition of farm, ranch and agri-business women dedicated to protecting and advancing agriculture by increasing awareness, building alliances, communication and education.
Last year she launched Ag Inspirations, LLC, a motivational speaking business focused on agriculture. Bremmer is an academy member of the National Speakers Association and a member of the American Dairy Coalition.
She was named "Outstanding Woman in Agriculture" by the UW-Madison Association of Women in Agriculture in 2014. She enjoys fishing, golfing, reading and playing her guitar.
