Marketing & Communications Staff Takes 7 Awards at CASE
JONESBORO -- Arkansas State University’s Office of Marketing and Communications won seven awards, including three gold and four silver, in the annual competition conducted by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), District IV.
The winning projects were produced by staff members in Marketing and Communications, which is directed by Associate Vice Chancellor Bill Smith, for various units on campus.
The Publications and Creative Services (PCS) team includes director Mark Reeves, assistant director Heath Kelly, and graphic designers Mary Melton and Claire Vickery. The Digital Creative Media (DCM) team includes director Todd Clark, videographers Tyler Silvey and Andrew Geswein, and photographer Travis Clayton. The Communications team includes Gina Bowman, Tom Moore and Van Provence.
“These awards are among our most prized as they are judged by our peers within the higher education field," Smith stated. “This past year our team earned recognition across the board, which reflects the overall commitment from every area of the office to represent Arkansas State with the highest quality of work. The creativity from our professionals is top notch.”
CASE is an international association of professionals who work for advancement of educational institutions. A-State’s entries competed with those from CASE-member universities and colleges in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico, the five states comprising District IV.
A-State Marketing and Communications representatives attended the awards presentation during the group's annual conference in Fort Worth.
Gold Awards
Arkansas State won golds in two design categories and a third in photography.
- In "publication design series," A-State's recruitment publications in the "Get Your Wolves Up" campaign earned a gold.
- Another recruitment piece, the "Wolf Head Brag Facts Takeaway Card," won gold in "design – general institutional literature."
- The third gold, for a photograph titled "Here Come Your Red Wolves," was awarded in the "color photography – athletics" category.
Silver Awards
A-State won silver in four different competition categories.
- Materials design and communications work produced for the Johnny Cash Heritage Festival won silver in "project or special event" category.
- Two entries produced for recruiting won in their respective categories. The social media awareness mailer won in "design – special pieces," and the sophomore contact piece won in "design – admissions, recruitment, promotional literature."
- The fourth silver was in the "video – general information short" for the production titled "Project 'Damp' Paint: Pack Centennial Bank Stadium."
