Nano Exhibit Comes to Arkansas State University Museum
JONESBORO – Nano, an interactive exhibit that engages family audiences in nanoscale science, engineering, and technology, is now open at Arkansas State University Museum.
This hands-on exhibit presents the basics of nanoscience and engineering, introduces some real world applications, and explores the societal and ethical implications of this new technology, according to Jill Kary, curator of education.
Kary invites the public to “Come explore progressively smaller magnetic materials — magnetite sand, iron powder, and ferrofluid, work with other visitors and build a giant model of a carbon nanotube, or balance blocks on a tippy table that represents the challenge of building a stable nano future.”
Nano, an Arkansas Discovery Network exhibit, was created by the Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network (NISE Network) with support from the National Science Foundation and funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.
ASU Museum’s display of this exhibit is made possible by a grant from the Carl B. and Florence E. King Foundation.
The Nano exhibit is on display at the Museum until December.
