ROTC at ASU Commissions Four as Army Second Lieutenants

Arkansas State University’s Department of Military Science commissioned four Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) cadets as second lieutenants in the U. S. Army during a ceremony in the ASU Convocation Center Auditorium today (Friday, Aug. 3).

Lt. Col. Bob Schoenborn (Ret.) of Jonesboro, an alumnus of ASU who was commissioned through the military science program, was guest speaker. Lt. Col. Cecil L. Clark, professor of military science at ASU, conducted the swearing-in ceremony.

Those commissioned were:

Eric Cheatham of Little Rock, a criminology major, who was commissioned into the Army Reserves, Military Intelligence Branch.  A Distinguished Military Graduate, he will be stationed with the 431st CAHHD in North Little Rock.

Justin Dupree of Ulm, a political science major, who was commissioned into active duty in the Army, Armor Branch.  He will be stationed with Headquarters, 2nd Squadron, 16th Calvary in Fort Benning, Ga.

David Robinson of Somerville, Tenn., an interdisciplinary studies major, who was commissioned into the Army Reserves, Corps of Engineers Branch. He will be stationed at Schofield Barracks, O’ahu, Hawai’i.

Christopher Stearley of Fredericktown, Mo., also an interdisciplinary studies major, who was commissioned into the Army Reserves, Chemical Corps.  He will be stationed in with the 375th Chemical Co. in St. Louis.
