Saturday's A-State Preview Day is for Prospective Students
JONESBORO – Students planning to attend Arkansas State University this fall have a special opportunity Saturday to get an advance look at their higher education destination.
Preview Day offers prospective students the chance to get more familiar with the academic opportunities and campus life at Arkansas State. Saturday is also Homecoming Day at A-State, so the campus will be busy with many activities.
The day begins with student check-in at 10:30 a.m. in the Welcome Center (GPS: 2400 Aggie Road), followed by the Red Wolf Review Information Fair at 11 in the Red W.O.L.F. Center.
During the fair, prospective students can visit with representatives of academic departments, student organizations, support offices, and community partners. Details about the newly announced 870 Plan, making an A-State education attainable for students from families of modest means, also will be available.
After games on the Heritage Plaza lawn and lunch in the Reng Student Union, the afternoon includes academic sessions at 1:30, during which time students can visit with faculty members and become more familiar with the array of available A-State degree programs. Students who are taking the ACT that day are still encouraged to come as they will still have plenty of time to attend important sessions.
Tours of campus, including residence life facilities and the Honors Living-Learning Community, will be available in the afternoon. Pre-game tailgating starts at 3 p.m. in the First Community Bank Tailgate Community adjacent to Centennial Bank Stadium.
University staff members will be at "help stations" around campus to assist guests throughout the day.
