JONESBORO, Ark. — The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Jonesboro Association will co-host a workshop for start-up businesses in Jonesboro, Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development, 319 University Loop Circle.
The workshop, entitled “Starting a Business in Arkansas: How to Get a New Business Started Right,” is aimed at anyone who is considering starting a new business and wants to make sure that the business has the best potential to succeed regardless of economic conditions.
“If you are going to start a business in 2013 then this seminar is the place to start,” said Herb Lawrence, director of SBTDC. “Topics will include business plan keys for success, legal requirements, licenses, fees and permits required by Arkansas, how to determine the feasibility of the business idea, common pitfalls to avoid, information about financing options and much more."
Registration is $30 per attendee, Jonesboro Chamber members $20, ASU faculty, staff and students $15. Registration is free to all military veterans and their families.
