Small Business Center To Host Bilingual EEOC Seminars
JONESBORO – The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) is hosting a pair of seminars regarding the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Thursday, Jan. 28. Two sessions — one in English and one in Spanish — are available.
“Knowing Your Employment Rights: EEOC” will be held in St. Bernards Auditorium, with Virginia Pollard from the EEOC teaching the English version from 2-4 p.m. and a translator for the Spanish seminar from 6-8 p.m. The event is free of charge. Attendees will learn about the EEOC and its involvement in the workplace. Both sessions will cover discrimination laws under EEOC, employer responsibilities and employee rights.
The EEOC enforces federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination, including discrimination on the basis of sex, gender or pregnancy.
