Statement from Arkansas State University Chancellor Tim Hudson Regarding A-State’s ROTC Program
JONESBORO, Ark. – Arkansas State University Chancellor Tim Hudson issued a statement today regarding the A-State ROTC program.
“We are aware there is an email circulating that indicates Arkansas State may be among ROTC programs slated for closure by the U.S. Army. We have reached out to our members of Congress, our state level officials and other appropriate agencies to seek clarification.
“Arkansas State whole-heartedly supports the continuation of the Red Wolf Battalion and our Army ROTC program. Our ROTC program and our military science curriculum are an integral part of this university’s history, and we will fight to keep it available to our students. We are proud of the almost 2,500 ROTC graduates from A-State in a military science program that dates to 1936.”
