Student Composers Concert to Showcase New Works
JONESBORO – The Department of Music at Arkansas State University will present the Student Composers Concert on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.
This concert will be a showcase of student composer activities, and will feature new and recent works performed by students and faculty. Admission is free and the public is welcome.
"The goal of all music is to be heard, and as such, composition studies at Arkansas State University are always oriented toward public performances of new works,” stated Dr. Daniel Tacke, assistant professor of music theory and composition.
“Each semester, student composers not only complete a number of original pieces, but also share their music with the world, presenting newly formed ideas and inviting dialogue with the listening community,” he added. “The semesterly student composers concert highlights all the individual voices currently active in the major and a diverse array of styles and methods. It's always a unique and engaging experience."
