Summer Children’s Theatre Season Continues with ‘The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse’
JONESBORO – The 20th season of Arkansas State University Summer Children’s Theatre continues with “The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse” by Vicky Ireland.
“A country mouse, bored with rural life, is visited by his city cousin and learns he has inherited a large house. While there, the mice run into adventures, particularly when they encounter two tricky city mice. Exciting, irresistible, and feisty!” says an ASU Theatre representative.
Performance dates are Wednesday, July 24, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Thursday, July 25, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; and Friday, July 26, at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
This production of “The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse” is sponsored by The Golden Grotto of Jonesboro.
The cast features ASU Theatre students under the direction of Molly Simpson, professor of theatre.
Cast members are Payton Overturf (Willamena Boot) of Cabot; Jasmine Juniel (Her Granny) of Camden; Cody Campbell (Montmorency de Vere Boot) of Jonesboro; Brooke Thomas (Snowey) of Jonesboro; and Meshayla Payne (Silver) of Hoxie.
Costume and makeup will be under the supervision of Claire Abernathy, assistant professor of theatre, and technical direction will be provided by Jeff McLaughlin, assistant professor of theatre and technical director of Fowler Center.
All performances will be in Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, on the ASU campus. Free parking is available at the north side of Fowler Center.
All seating is reserved. Patrons may purchase tickets in advance for $5 each at the ASU Central Box Office in the Convocation Center, 217 Olympic Dr., by calling 972-ASU1, or online at tickets.astate.edu. Tickets also may be purchased at the door (if available) on the day of the performance for $7 each. Reservations are highly recommended.
