Summer Children’s Theatre to Present 'Charlotte's Web'
JONESBORO – The second production of the A-State Summer Children’s Theatre 23rd season will be "Charlotte’s Web," adapted by Joseph Robinette and based on the book by E. B. White.
Performance dates are Wednesday, July 27, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Thursday, July 28, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; and Friday, July 29, at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. All performances will be held at Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, on the Arkansas State University campus.
This production of "Charlotte’s Web" is sponsored by The Golden Grotto.
Charlotte’s Web will be produced by A-State Theatre students under the direction of Tim Bohn, associate professor of theatre.
The performers include William Key from Cabot as Wilbur, Michaela Maxwell from Trumann as Charlotte, Hannah Cummins from Little Rock as Fern, Matthew Stewart from White Hall as Templeton, Logan Powell from Hardy as Homer, and Deven Parrish from Trumann as Narrator.
Costume and makeup will be under the supervision of Claire Abernathy, assistant professor of theatre and technical direction will be supervised by Jeff McLaughlin, assistant professor of theatre.
According to a synopsis of the play, a determined Charlotte aims to save Wilbur with the “miracle” of her web. It’s a victorious campaign which ends with the now-safe Wilbur doing what is most important to Charlotte. This is a beautiful play about friendship that promises to enchant.
