Theatre Announces Cast and Crew for ‘As You Like It’

JONESBORO – Arkansas State University Theatre will present "As You Like It," one of William Shakespeare's most beloved comedies, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10-11, and Monday through Wednesday, Nov. 13-15.

Marc Williams, assistant professor of theatre, will direct the production.  Brianna Lucas Larson, dance instructor of theatre, will serve as choreographer and Derek Jenkins, assistant professor of music, will serve as musical director and arranger.

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. each evening in the Drama Theatre at Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Dr.  A dessert reception to meet the company will follow the opening night performance on Nov. 10.

The cast includes Bryce Moore, a sophomore theatre major from White Hall, as Duke Senior; Reilly Heffer, a freshman theatre major from Little Rock, as Rosalind; Logan Powell, a junior theatre major from Cherokee Village, as Duke Frederick; Hayley Scott, a sophomore theatre major from North Little Rock, as Celia; Hayden Boles, a junior theatre major from Jonesboro, as First Lord, Jaques de Boys, and Le Beau; Carson Horton, a freshman English major from Batesville, as Second Lord and Jaques; Zachary Blake, a junior theatre major from Jonesboro, as Oliver; Josh Pryor, a freshman theatre major from Clinton, as Orlando; Laura Martin a post-degree theatre major from Blytheville, as Adam.

Other cast members are David Norris, a senior theatre major from Desha, as Dennis and Third Lord; Trenton McKenzie, a freshman theatre major from Redfield, as Charles and First Lord; Davis James, a senior theatre major from Searcy, as Touchstone; Kennedy Woodall, a freshman undeclared major from Manila, as Amiens; Hannah Cummins, a senior theatre major from Batesville, as Second Lady and Audrey; Irene Taylor, a senior theatre major from Birdtown, as Corin; Caelon Colbert, a freshman theatre and computer science major from Little Rock, as Silvius; and Abbey Cooper, a freshman theatre major from Russellville, as Phoebe;

Scenic designer and technical director will be Jeff McLaughlin, assistant professor of theatre. Lighting and sound designer will be Caisa Sanburg, assistant professor of theatre. Irene Taylor will serve as assistant scenic designer. Griffen Birdsong, a freshman theatre major from Searcy, and Alyssa Burleson, a senior theatre major from North Little Rock, will serve as assistant lighting designers.  Hannah Martin, a senior theatre major from Blytheville, will serve as assistant sound designer and sound board operator.

Light board operator will be Callie Blair, a freshman theatre major from Camden.  Eli Webb, a junior theatre major from Jonesboro, will serve as master electrician. Properties master will be Lauren Wilcox, a junior theatre major from Jonesboro.  Properties carpenter will be Devin Jones, a freshman theatre major from Jonesboro, and Katey Little, a senior theatre major from Paragould, will serve as properties artisan. Alyssa Burleson will be assisting with publicity.

Claire Abernathy, assistant professor of theatre, will be costume designer. Davis Campbell, a junior theatre major from Batesville, and Samantha Dunavion, a senior theatre major from Tuckerman will serve as assistant costume designers. 

Jackson Wu, a senior theatre major from Taipei, Taiwan, Samuel Scott, a freshman theatre major from Frenchmans Bayou, Kassidy Ratz, a junior theatre minor from Beebe, Amy Faughn, a sophomore theatre major from Jonesboro, and Leah Brown, a senior theatre major from Cherokee Village, will serve as wardrobe crew. Syrena Crotts, a freshman theatre major from North Little Rock, and Sierra Peel, a freshman theatre major from Jonesboro, will serve as the backstage crew.

House managers will be Courtney Light, a junior theatre major from Alicia, and Dejah Harris, a freshman theatre major from Pine Bluff.  Assistant stage managers will be Claire Thomas, a freshman theatre major from Batesville, and Michaela Partridge, a freshman theatre major from Leola. Stage management duties for the production have been assigned to Peyton Miller, a sophomore theatre major from Paragould.

Tickets may be purchased for reserved seating in advance at the Central Box Office in the Convocation Center or by calling 972-ASU1.  Tickets are also available online.  Reserved seating tickets (if available) may be purchased at the door on the evening of the performance.  Ticket prices are $10 ($8 in advance).

Advanced reservations are highly recommended.  This production is approved for all audiences.
