Through a Child’s Eyes Art Exhibition at ASU Museum
JONESBORO – Arkansas State University Museum will celebrate the artistic talent of the region’s children at the Museum’s 33rd annual "Through a Child’s Eyes (TACE)" exhibition, a juried show of art created by children grades pre-K through grade 8.
The exhibition opening will be Sunday, April 7, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
"During TACE, the Museum’s exhibit walls will come alive with spectacular works of art rendered by our region’s children," stated Jill Kary, curator of education.
Every child whose artwork is exhibited is already a winner by virtue of having created one of the top 10 works of art in their school. At TACE, their artwork is then judged two more times — once by a panel of judges who pick the top three works of art in each grade, and then by the Museum’s curators, who select which single artwork to name the Charlott Jones Best In Show.
At the Museum, arts often go hand-in-hand with the sciences. After the announcement of the TACE awards, visitors may enjoy a range of hands-on science activities.
July 20, 2019, will mark the 50th anniversary of the first humans landing on the moon as part of NASA’s Apollo 11 lunar mission. In celebration of that event, guests can engage in NASA-designed Earth and space activities throughout the main gallery.
"These hands-on learning experiences will delight and inspire those who desire to know more," added Kary.
