TinkerFaire and SciFest Return to A-State Museum

10/03/2024

JONESBORO – TinkerFaire and the Arkansas Science Festival (SciFest) are back for another year, but this time with a twist. The two events are joining forces to become the TinkerFaire-SciFest.

The public is invited to Arkansas State University Museum from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, to create an explosion of fun and learning. Admission is free.

Throughout the museum, visitors will find tinkering and science activities that boggle the mind, inspiring them to learn more.

Utilizing refurbished materials, festival guests can design, build, experiment, create works of art, and more.

“Components of tinkering and science have always played a part in human endeavors,” says Jill Kary, curator of education at the museum. “Our ancestors tinkered to invent life easing tools and based many decisions on planetary or seasonal events.”

A-State Museum is located at 320 University Loop West.

For more information, one can contact Kary at jkary@AState.edu by calling 870-972-2074 or the director of the Arkansas Science Festival, Dr. Karen Yanowitz, at kyanowit@AState.edu or 870- 972-3064.
