University Community Mourns Passing of Lyn Hubbard, Emeritus Faculty
JONESBORO – The university community extends sympathy to the family, friends and former colleagues of Evelyn (Lyn) Hubbard, who died Tuesday.
Hubbard retired from Arkansas State University in 2013, at which time she was named emeritus associate professor of radiologic sciences.
She served at A-State for 21 years, having joined the faculty in the College of Nursing and Health Professions in 1992. After earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education, she completed Emory University Hospital’s radiography program.
She began her career with the American Cancer Society and National Institutes of Health in one of its breast cancer screening projects, which helped establish the effectiveness of screening mammography for early detection.
Burial will be Saturday, July 30, in Montevallo, Ala. A memorial service will be held in Jonesboro at a later date. Her complete obituary is online.
The clock tower of the Dean B. Ellis Library will be lighted scarlet Saturday evening in memorial tribute to her service and contributions to her field of expertise and Arkansas State University.
