University Community Notes Passing of Dalton Whitt, Emeritus Faculty
JONESBORO – The university community extends sympathy to the family, friends and former colleagues of H. Dalton Whitt of Maumelle, who died last week. Whitt retired from Arkansas State University in 1997, at which time he was named emeritus assistant professor of accounting.
Whitt served at A-State for 29 years, having joined the College of Business faculty in 1968. Among his professional activities on campus, he served on the Faculty Athletic Committee.
Previously he had taught at Northwest Mississippi Junior College after working as an accountant in industry and in a public firm. A Navy veteran, he earned his accounting degree at Delta State University, and an MBA at University of Memphis.
