Viewbook for Prospective Students is Now Digital Experience
JONESBORO – College bound students and their families interested in checking out a university often turn to a printed viewbook.
Starting this fall, students interested in Arkansas State University can go to the device of their choice at Viewbook.AState.edu.
Designed and executed as collaboration among A-State’s own Digital Creative Media and the Publications and Creative Services offices and the A-State Office of Recruiting, the web address launches a new way to see the state’s second largest university.
“Providing our view book as a digital publication provides us with the ability to get it into the hands of prospective students faster than ever before,” assistant vice chancellor for enrollment service Terry Finney said. “The immediate accessibility for high school and transfer students to look at what campus life is like in Jonesboro adds a new dimension to our recruiting efforts at Arkansas State.”
Aside from the ease of use and speed of delivery, Finney noted the ability to reach new students from other states as another benefit.
“We are seeing more interest in Arkansas State from cities and regions across the country in recent years, and the digital viewbook is a great asset to provide information about available financial aid for our out of state students” Finney said.
The responsive and interactive design incorporates pertinent facts and figures about campus life with videos and photographs of the Jonesboro campus.
“We know our prospective student’s favorite platform is the one they carry in their pockets and purses,” executive director of marketing and communications Dr. Bill Smith said.
“Along with reducing our printing costs, we have the benefit of a flexible marketing presentation that we can adjust as the academic year continues,” Smith said. “Thanks to the talent of our in-house digital and design teams’ work we were able to keep costs down yet produce a digital viewbook that is among the best in the country.”
