Wind Ensemble's Holiday Concert to Benefit Food Bank
JONESBORO – The Arkansas State University Wind Ensemble is collaborating with the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas to present a Holiday Concert Sunday, Dec. 2, beginning at 2 p.m. in Fowler Center’s Riceland Hall, 201 Olympic Dr.
Admission to the concert will be a non-perishable food item or monetary donation. Staff from the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas will be present before and after the concert to receive donations from those attending the concert.
Dr. Timothy Oliver, director of bands and conductor of the A-State Wind Ensemble says, “The holiday season and music are intertwined. During this season of giving, we welcome the opportunity to collaborate with the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas to present this concert to start the holiday season and to help members of our community.”
The Wind Ensemble will perform a wide variety of holiday music including “Ukrainian Bell Carol,” “Russian Christmas Music,” “White Christmas” featuring vocalist Matthew Carey, assistant professor of music, “The Eighth Candle,” two medleys of popular Christmas songs, and “Sleigh Ride.”
