Biography
Ms. Carter is a native of El Dorado, Arkansas, and a two-time graduate of Arkansas State University. She joined the English Department at Arkansas State University as a graduate assistant in 2006, and upon earning an MA in English in 2008, joined the department as an English instructor until leaving the university in 2010. In 2012, Ms. Carter returned to Arkansas State University as a writing instructor in the First Year Studies program where she taught developmental writing and first year experience courses until becoming program coordinator in 2016. As of July 2017, her primary role has been program director for the Transition Studies department where she serves as an instructor, advisor, and advocate for students admitted to the university through the Transition Studies program.
