Biography

Audrey joined Arkansas State University in 2010 as an adjunct faculty to teach Clinical Chemistry, at which time she also started on her Master’s in Health Sciences, while still working as a MT at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, AR. She was employed for 13 years in the Clinical Laboratory at NEA Baptist where she was in charge of continuing education and the urinalysis and serology bench. She was also previously in charge of the coagulation bench.

Prior to working at NEA Baptist, she worked in Memphis, TN at Methodist University. She was employed as a MT in the Hematology Lab for two years.

In 2012, while finishing her Master’s, she left NEA Baptist to join Black River Technical College as a full-time Science Instructor where she taught Human Anatomy and Microbiology for two years.

In 2014, she became a temporary full time Assistant Professor for A-State’s Clinical Lab Sciences program. Her added course load included Principles of Disease for CLS,  Medical Terminology, Clinical Biochemistry,  interpreting Lab Data, and Intro to US Health Care. She also co-teaches the Senior Seminar courses and the Principles of CLS course.

She is a 1997 graduate of the A-State CLS program, a 2012 graduate of the A-State Masters in Health Sciences Education program, and a 2020 graduate of the University of Bridgeport’s Doctorate in Health Sciences program, health care clinician track. Her dissertation was titled “Retinol Levels in Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis”. She also serves as a dissertation committee member on the UB DHSc dissertation committees.
