Professional Credentials
Professor Doering is the HCJ CPAs & Advisors/Louis & Ann Schaaf Distinguished Professor of Accounting and Chair of the Departments of Accounting and Information Systems & Business Analytics for the Neil Griffin College of Business at Arkansas State University. He received his B.B.A. with distinction in Accounting and Finance with a specialization in International Business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Professor Doering received his law degree from Marquette University, where he was Managing Editor of the Marquette Law Review, and his LL.M. (Master of Law) in Taxation from New York University. His work experience includes public accounting, a financial analyst with a Fortune 500 Company, and large corporate law firms in Chicago, Illinois and Phoenix, Arizona. He began his academic career at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he served for many years as Chair of Accounting.
His teaching interests include tax, law, and financial accounting. Professor Doering’s research interests include current tax topic, including corporate, partnership, and international. He has over twenty-five published journal articles in various tax journals and law reviews, such as Taxes, Journal of International Taxation, Journal of Partnership Taxation, Journal of Real Estate Taxation, Journal of Taxation of Investments, National Public Accountant, and the Marquette Law Review.
Professor Doering is a member of the State Bars of Wisconsin, Arizona, Illinois, and the District of Columbia. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Wisconsin.
