Biography

Powell has been an accounting instructor at Arkansas State University for 2 years, beginning in the Fall of 2007. He was President of Pocahontas Bancorp, Inc. and First Community Bank for 6 years, Chief Financial officer of Pocahontas Bancorp, Inc. and First Community Bank for 5 years. He was an auditor for Deloitte and Touche, LLP for 6 years working primarily in the financial services industry. In addition to management roles he has served on the board of directors of Pocahontas Bancorp, Inc., First Community Bank, Arkansas League of Savings Institutions, and Heartland Community Bankers Association. He continues to provide accounting and management consulting services for financial services companies and he serves on the boards of directors of the Better Life Counseling Center and Crowley's Ridge Academy.
