Biography

Dr. Katie Hill is the Director of the R.M. ‘Bob’ Wood Sales Leadership Center at Arkansas State University. Dr. Hill is passionate about advancing sales education and training as well as sales research. Her research has appeared in Journal of Business Research, Journal of Relationship Marketing, and Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, among other peer-reviewed journals.

Through the Wood Sales Leadership Center, Dr. Hill teaches future sales leaders in courses such as Professional Selling, Sales Planning and Management, and Advanced Sales, Category Management, and Marketing. Under her guidance, Arkansas State University’s Sales Program became a member of the prestigious University Sales Center Alliance and was recently recognized as one of the top sales programs by the Sales Education Foundation. In addition to working with A-State students, Dr. Hill has provided sales training to financial institutions in the Mid-South Region and to other organizations.

Dr. Hill’s research focuses on business-to-business sales, improvisation, emotional intelligence, and the buyer-seller interaction.  She became a Sheth Foundation Fellow in 2013 and received a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Mississippi in May 2014. Prior to attending graduate school, Dr. Hill worked in banking.
