Biography
Dr. Duyar has served as a school principal, director of schools, a university professor, and a consultant in local, national, and international organizations. He is currently a full professor at the Center for Educational Excellence-Arkansas State University-USA. Dr. Duyar’s research focuses on the antecedents, processes, and outcomes of workplace attitude, behavior, and performance of the educational workforce, with a special focus on the effects of leadership. His interdisciplinary research connects educational leadership praxis with industrial psychology, psychology, and sociology. Dr. Duyar also runs cross-cultural and cross-national research in educational leadership towards the examination of "etic" and "emic" attributes of educational leadership across different cultures and nations. He publishes in peer-reviewed journals and presents at national and international conferences regularly. His recent scholarly works have focused on timely constructs such as cultural intelligence, professional and organizational identity, self-awareness, self-other agreement, multi-source evaluation of leadership performance and effectiveness, creativity and innovation in educational organizations, task and extra-role performance, uncertainty, psychological contract, psychological safety, and organizational support. Dr. Duyar utilizes large-scale panel data sets for the quantitative analysis of timely educational constructs and issues.
Dr. Duyar has served on the editorial boards of prestigious peer reviewed journals. He served two consecutive terms on the editorial board of prestigious Educational Administration Quarterly EAQ). He also serves on the Editorial Boards of several high impact journals such as International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management. Dr. Duyar continues to stay active in annual conventions of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), University Council of Educational Administration (UCEA), European Conference on Educational Research (ECER), and British Educational Leadership, Management, and Administration Society (BELMAS). He assumes various roles at the annual conferences of these professional associations by being elected officer, chairing sessions, reviewing proposals, and sitting on the conference planning and review committees.
