Biography

Heather Hall Coleman, DMA, is Instructor of Music (Music History, Music Education) at Arkansas State University.  Her teaching experience includes PK-12 music, as well as teaching at the university level.
Dr. Coleman is licensed to teach PK-12 instrumental and vocal music in Arkansas and is certified in Orff Schulwerk, Level I.  Her research experience includes high band flute research at the archives of the Library of Congress and archives of the National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C.  She holds degrees from Arkansas State University and The University of Memphis. Her primary focus areas are music history and flute performance.  Her principal teachers in flute were Joe Bonner and Bruce Erskine. Her mentors and teachers in music history were Dr. Ellis Julien and Dr. Kenneth Kreitner. She serves as principal flutist with the Delta Symphony Orchestra.
