Biography
Andrew Manka is an award-winning guitarist who has traveled all over the continent performing as a solo artist and as an ensemble member with nationally acclaimed groups including the Grammy award winning ensemble, the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Andrew York, NAU Chamber Ensemble, and the Glendale Guitar Orchestra. After earning his master's degree in Guitar Performance from Northern Arizona University under the guidance of Tom Sheeley, Andrew opened a new music school in his hometown of Anchorage, Alaska where he continues to work as its owner.
Mr. Manka is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Memphis where he teaches Applied Guitar and Introduction to Music classes. His research focus includes music education, cognitive music therapy, and original guitar music from Alaskan composers.
