Biography
Dr. Schulte began her nursing career as an non-traditional student completing her LPN in 1995. She worked primary care then completed her Associate Degree RN while working surgery, med surg, ICU, and CVOR. After gaining valuable experience she completed her BSN in 2010 and went into the MSN-Family nurse Practitioner program while she worked for a cardiovascular surgeon as well as charged part time on a step down unit. This is where her devotion to preventing heart disease began and specifically in women which is sometimes so overlooked. After completing her MSN she worked in ER, Urgent Care, and settled into her favorite, family practice where she has made it her mission to screen and identify risk factors for heart disease early and empower patients to make changes in hopes of improving outcomes. She completed her doctorate in 2021 with a focus on women’s heart health. She has 27 years of nursing experience and a passion to pass this knowledge onto her students. She has precepted FNP students since 2016. She started teaching full time in January 2023 in the traditional BSN program and in August 2023 she became the Graduate Nursing Clinical Coordinator.
