Biography
Mrs. Altom obtained both her BSN and MSN from Arkansas State University in 2009 and 2014 respectively. Her professional experience includes time spent in neurology, neurosurgery, medical-surgical, and cardiac stepdown. Prior to joining A-State full-time, Mrs. Altom was an adjunct clinical instructor for 3 years. In graduate school, she followed the Adult Health Nursing track with an emphasis in Nursing Education. She obtained certification as a Nurse Educator and Certified Clinical Nurse Educator through the NLN in 2019 and 2023 respectively, and a Certified Medical Surgical Registered Nurse from the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board in 2020. She currently teaches in both clinical and didactic settings.
